I just recently found out that VW owned the Scout name and was wondering if they'd do something with it.

I feared that if they revived the name it'd be unibody without real capability and it seems I may be right.

My brother owned a Scout years and years ago, what a kool vehicle! I remember taking off the metal top and cruising! A true convertible, no roll bars, in a truck!!

We can hope they at lease make a hybrid so it we are not limited on range in remote areas.

We had a "first edition" Scout 80 until we got a Scout II. I still keep looking for the right 80 or 800 to pop up that is not a basket case.
Our first was the slant 4 but they also stuffed the 304 V8 in it from the factory

Funny thing is, a couple of weeks ago I drove past the International Trucks dealer and glanced over, hoping to see a brand new International Scout parked out front.
