Howdy,

I just purchased my bronco on 2-18-2022. At the time I had not been watching the forums so did not know anything about purchasing agreements. I did sign an order form but that is about it. Now that I have been watching the forums I decided to email my salesman and ask for a purchase agreement. The salesman wrote back that we could not do a purchase agreement without a VIN. He did say in the email that they would only add TT&L and that would be it. They would not add anything else. I'm wondering if I can trust them or if I should push them to sign one or if I can wait till I have a VIN.

Ford does mention in the FAQ that they recommend a signed purchase agreement but I have seen others in the forum mention that you can't get one without the VIN or that it would not be legally binding without the VIN.

If I need to push them what is the best way to go about getting it done. Should I talk to the sales manager? If they are not willing to do a signed purchase agreement do I have the option of moving to a different dealership? My order was placed just before the recent price increases. Will my price go up if I switch dealerships? Do I have to do the switch before orders close on March 7th?

I'm worried I am only going to have a week to get anything done and then be stuck. I maxed out what I could afford so any amount over I might not be able to make the purchase. Its all got me a little worried although I don't know why since I may not get it this year anyway.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Guy named Josh, at Ford dealership in Athens, Tx, will only charge MSRP for sure. So if your salesman is someone you can't trust, give him a call. Brinson Ford in Athens is run and owned by great people. Don't get me wrong, they aren't giving discounts off MSRP and you will pay more for one on the lot. BUT they don't mark up customer orders.

I posted the very same question here last week. You’ll get 3 types of answers from here:

1. Push it and get what you need from your current dealer even if it means jeopardizing your relationship with them.

2. Do nothing because “If I was a dealer and a buyer kept harassing me, I would charge you ADM just to piss you off”.

3. Simply leave your existing order as is and submit a backup order as an insurance at a different dealership. You’ll have more leverage to demand to play by the rules now that you have more info on this. This was my choice.

If you have that in an email from your salesman. That sounds like a purchase agreement to me.
