NH Off - Rodeo - problems ahead?

Last night, the entire management team at Gunstock resigned due to an ongoing disagreement. My understanding is that the mountain is now closed, but there are many rumors out there. The off Rodeo operates out of Gunstock and uses their facilities, including a ride up the chairlift for lunch. It will be interesting to see what happens to this location in the future. I bought season passes to ski there this winter... hopefully they will be open.

my luck strikes again. I'm supposed to be there August 23 for the off roadeo.

itll be fine. i was up there. the offrodeo building is way off to the side and runs independently of the ski lodge, with exception for the chair lift up to the top of the mountain for lunch. ive already heard on here that they cancel the chairlift on rainy days so i see no reason the off rodeo would have to shut down.

Hopefully you are correct. It is all owned by the county and it really depends on what they decide to do. While the off rodeo building is not connected to the ski lodge, it is all part of the resort. If the county has no one to manage the facilities, they may decide to close.

Again, I hope you are right and nothing happens. For people with upcoming trips (especially soon), i would definitely check in to make sure there is no disruption.

The one link you shared was vastly more informative than the other.
I guess there is risk of the Offrodeo shutting down if no one is maintaining the trails and grounds. one man with a brush hog should be enough for the off rodeo team to continue doing what they do.

I attended the NH Off-Roadeo on Friday 7/22. Only real change from previous events was the lunch was held at base camp instead of at the top of the mountain via chair lift ride. To offset, they took us up to the look out point for a photo op - it’s the same view as you’d get from the lunch spot. So essentially you don’t miss out on anything from the total experience.

Off-Roadeo was AWESOME and the NH location exceeded expectations. The terrain is quite varied and you can get everything from mud to rocks to granite slabs on a steeeeep incline, to some “high” speed trail running. Could not recommend enough.

I was there in May and had a great time like you did. Completely agree with your recommendation! Good to hear that they haven't really been impacted by the resort management issues.

That was an interesting read. Thanks for posting that. Much respect to management for sticking up for themselves. Tough thing to do to resign over your principles, rather than just keeping quiet and taking the paycheck. I admire what they did, and hope things work out OK for them and the rest of the resort staff. As the article points out, missing a season would be devastating.

Hopefully its not true, and will be corrected soon if needed. it won’t hamper the bronco off Roader experience cause it was a great time and informative for my wife and myself. We were there on July 8th the day was amazing experience and would do it again in time.

Thanks so much for posting the update. I am glad to see things seem to have been resolved sensibly.

I have my reservations for Off Roadeo in Gunstock for Columbus Day weekend. Can't wait. Totally looking forward to this.
