Has anyone replaced the front Sasquatch struts on a 2.3 2-door, with Sasquatch struts from a V6 4-door?
I have a 22 Badlands 2-door 2.3 manual, with maybe some interest in leveling / lifting the nose a bit following installation of an Icon bumper and winch. I don't want to "lift" the truck per se, I just want to reduce stock rake, as well as eliminate the bit of droop I picked up by adding the bumper.
I'd like to avoid the usual spacer kit, as it adds stress to the tie rods and steering box at full droop. And, I'd like to keep things simple....
As the V6 4 door weighs about 350 pounds more than my little 4 banger, with much of that extra weight on the nose, I suspect that swapping struts with bring the nose up without much hassle.
Has anyone tried this?
EDIT: Thanks to kevin.gt, found a decent weight and axle rating chart. It seems that I have a front GAWR of 2900lbs, a V6 4 door auto has a GAWR of 3220 or 3270lbs depending on trim, or 320 to 350lbs additional rating. My bumper and winch weigh 195lbs...with the weight well ahead of the axle, leaving 125 to 175lbs "extra" that would result in some lift over stock nose height. (Does this make sense?)
