thank you for this post. my Flex Era 4's are coming in soon. originally was told they mounted directly to the accessory point, but that bracket/mount combo looks perfect.
They can mount directly if you change the bolt hardware -then you give up the lock no turn bolt- I recommend using a bracket keeping the lock no turn bolt .

Awesome, thanks! I just ordered the Body Guard mounts.
Hey there! Finally installed my lights using Body Guard mounts. I didn't think the Body Guard solution would be my ideal, but I think I like them overall and the look. I definitely like the multiple mounting point options, I went with the outside option on each side and slid them to the inside most point. I used 1/16" neoprene fender washers (about 1.5" inch wide) under the mounting bracket so nice soft mount to plastic cowl part. I like the KC Flex Era 4s overall, but the wiring connection attached to each light is a little shorter than you would like as you can't unplug at light housing and then is in a difficult connection place under the hood at upper most edge.

Now for the bad news, I could not get the lights to work with wiring for my factory AUX switches. Not sure what might be going on, I have a service appointment to have the dealership trouble shoot that. I used the KC wiring harness with its inline fuses and switch relay to make sure the lights actually work. I definitely want to eliminate all that portion of the wiring and have them on the factory AUX switches. It doesn't seem like I'm getting any current to the wire leads under the hood for the powered circuits for the AUX switches.

I just received my Flex Era 4 lights today and I really like this mount option. Quick question, did the antenna get in the way? I see you have yours removed. Thanks.

on my set up i did remove the antenna to place lights where i wanted just personal preference . you do not have to remove antenna at all there is plenty of mounting options with mount flip it or have right or left positions that place the light in different locations and also the turn bracket have the option mounting light close to window or further away on hood - really countless ways you can mount it -play around and find what works for you.

I visited with KC and they indicated that you would connect red wire lead (primary light) to one AUX switch, and white wire lead (amber backlight) to a second AUX switch to use both, with black wire lead to ground, I did this and neither light worked, I added back the battery connection with in line fuses and switch relay and all worked fine, but I have my KC switch under my hood, I used a multimeter to see if I had current to the powered AUX switch wire leads and could not get a reading, I will have my dealer trouble shoot this on January 11, first date they could schedule me

Ordered the bracket and swivel mount from BadAssMounts. Should have it installed with Flex Era 4's on Tuesday.

absolutely can wire that way . may i ask , with car running and you toggle upfitter switches on and off do the switches turn amber ? if so your ok- if not visit dealer. to have power to switches car must be in accessory on or car running position , just trying to be helpful a lot have not realized this . Best of luck hope its a simple fix.

appreciate the reply! yes, AUX switches did turn amber when switched from off to on, but the lights didn't illuminate, really odd, I definitely have the correct wires as they are very easy to identify, wonder if a fuse might be bad? I tried both accessory on and with vehicle running and same result. I'll keep you guys posted as I discover solution.

I ended up going with the Quake LED mounts and was happy to find out I was able to keep the antenna. I didn’t realize that when I ordered. Really happy with how clean it looks. They did have to drill out the holes to accommodate the bolt on the KCs.

I just mounted KC Slims and am struggling to find info on how to use the KC wire harness with the built-in aux switches. Anyone know, for sure, where (and if) I can just cut this harness and skip the fuse and the switch that comes with it? Thanks
