I pull the front plate when I change the oil. It's not bad. Bolts will likely be a little extra tight.
The trick will be getting it back on. Oh, and reshaping the 3/16" steel without a torch. I might have to take it to a shop.

Don't worry about reshaping it, enjoy the extra clearance. I need to smash my tank down to about 12 gallons lol.

Get a die grinder bit and open up the holes a little, it will work in a drill if you don't have a die grinder.
