HAVOC Steel Bender Front Bumper Installed

Just got mine installed. Was able to do it alone in about 2 hours - not bad at all. It's not too heavy for one person to lift into position and hold long enough to get 1 nut on each side started.

As for the skid plate, I'm just leaving the OEM on for now, doesn't look too bad IMO.

Next step is to install a light bar.

Doesn't it look weird with the wide fender flares of the SAS package? That's my only concern with this bumper

Guess it depends on your preference. Personally I think it looks weird to have a bumper sticking that far out on the sides. But I also had a stubby bumper on my Jeep, so maybe that’s just what I’m used to…

The bumper is about maximum clearance and ends or sides are allowing for an increase in approached angle when rock crawling.

I took my flares / fenders out even more.... I'm pleased with the bumper so far and powder coating is holding up well.

FYI - I'm dropping the bumper and looking to see if there is enough clearance to mod the mounting bracket to raise the bumper up and close the gap between the bumper and lower grill. If interested...

Did you have any luck modding the mounting bracket to raise the bumper up? About to install mine, but can definitely notice relatively big gap between bumper and the grill

Hey, I was able to reduce the gap a bit more but ran out time. Traveling... it's the ends that you can notice the gap so I still plan to slot the bracket a bit.

I used a motorcycle jack and a rubber mallet to get it closer. When I do the slots, I'll send an update to this thread.

No, I ordered a small roll from Amazon, took some measurements and tapped the folds with a rubber mallet.

Hey, I was able to reduce the gap a bit more but ran out time. Traveling... it's the ends that you can notice the gap so I still plan to slot the bracket a bit.

I used a motorcycle jack and a rubber mallet to get it closer. When I do the slots, I'll send an update to this thread.

were you able to reduce the gap? I installed mine but there is like half inch gap and looks so bad

I installed my havoc steelbender bumper today, got it at Piegeon Forge Bronco stampede. Question for those that used the factory fogs, what did you use to mount them with. Factory fogs use four self tapping screws. I am not sure how to mount them. Love the bumper. Thanks.

@Skip it comes with the necessary hardware to install the factory fogs, as some others mentioned put fogs in front of the bracket not behind as instructions state to push them a bit further forward.
I did the steel mesh and paired the steel bender bumpers with havoc tubular steel fenders. I prefer the rounded stock fenders but didn’t how the wider stock fenders met with the narrower bumpers.

@SGXIX it’s been two years but did you get installed? I didn’t think gap was too bad but I guess you could remove the rubber trim from stock (plastic at least) and attach to the steel bender.

I took the 7” lights off, still undecided on what to mount.

EDIT: photo has havoc fender driver and stock non-sas passenger for comparison.

Long time viewer, first reply. I have a question specifically about the sensor installation. I see that it may be better to use the OEM sensor rings instead of the ones supplied on the bumper. If I recall, the OEM bumper has three notches around the hole for alignment, so the insert rings have three wings on them that fit into the notches on the bumper. My question is how do the OEM rings fit with the wings on them? Thanks!

I got it installed 1+ years ago. I have the Area51 and gap is more noticeable, but over time you don't pay attention to it. Satisfied so far. Has been holding up fine. I installed the fog lights but still need to do the wire connection. Yours looking good, congrats!
