You're already getting advice on what you asked for. I would comment that mud and muddy water exposure does kill seals over time. You bought it to use it as you say. Just be aware that you shorten the life of mechanical seals in your drivetrain.

Well i checked the oil and it looks clean. I have to take it in for other reasons friday, ill have the transmission fluids. I gave it a solid cleaning but there's definitely gunk still caking the bottom of the car. The bash plates are pretty hard to clean out. Still i seem to have survived my swim. While I don't mind taking my Bronco out into the world I think I'll stick to shallower puddles! Thanks for all the advice. Any one who's willing to take a beginner out in Western PA, give me a shout.

So we took the Bronco out offroading for the first time and had a blast. At the end of the day though as we came to the trail end I pulled onto the main road on some mud puddles I thought we'd already gone through. Turns out that was 50ft to the right and we sank down to the tires.

We pulled the Bronco out and went back the way we came and a day later it seems to be running fine, but someone mentioned checking the diff breathing tubs and changing the transmission fluids. Does anyone know if I'm ok?

That's awesome! I and my Bronco ( since dubbed the Lusitania, or Lucy for short) are still going strong. Luckily I quasi work for Ford so I asked my mechanic friends in the company and they told me what to ask. I don't have contacts with the Bronco program so I'm glad to get confirmation. Don't be afraid to get your feet wet folks!
