Got a build date and VIN! Can't believe it!!

So I really truly don't understand this ordering and allocation process or the algorithm's they are using for selection. I never had a reservation at all so placed a retail order with Chapman on September 8th being around 380 on their list with no reservation. Later as everyone knows, the allocation rules were changed by Ford so I decided to place a second order with a decent sized local dealer as I figured I was looking at 2023 for my Chapman order to come through. I placed this order on October 13th the first day the 2022 order banks opened. So today I got a text message from my dealer saying I am scheduled for 2/14/22 and gave me my VIN. I dropped the tow package 2 weeks ago but have several other "constraints", Badlands, 2.7L, Modular bumper, Lux Package. The lady I have been dealing with is shocked as well as they have about 50 pending orders with many of those still being early reservation holders including a day one reservation holder still with no build date.

I am extremely shocked and excited, but do feel REALLY bad for you guys that are way over a year of waiting. This system truly makes no sense.

Yeah and I actually wanted the soft top for ease of putting it back on nice days. I figured if later I change my mind might see what the aftermarket is offering

fortunately and unfortunely, yes soft top will get you a schedule almost like they are completely caught up even though I know I have seen early reservations that are still outstanding. I dumped the tow package, didnt help me last round, but there seems to be a MIC capacity issue cause it seems awfully thin starting with Jan scheduling (again).

Well I am a 7/14/20 reservation and I switched to Soft Top back in September and I am still waiting on a build week.

I think that is where the dealer allocation part plays in to it as well unfortunately.

Yes, I believe the allocation is part of it but I was first in their allocations but who knows now.

I just realized today I will now hopefully have my Bronco in time to take it to the Bronco East Celebration.

It is only about 2 hours from me so I had planned on going just to see other Broncos and get ideas for my build, but now can hopefully have mine there!

Found out today same build week 2/14/22 but no VIN??? I did 2.7, SAS and tow standard BB. We will see.

My dealer had the vin and let me know. I received an email on the 8th when I placed the order. Nothing when it got scheduled the following Thursday.

Second this, there must be a lot of MIC tops in the mix at Chapman. I changed to soft top w/ prep and dropped tow and was scheduled the following week. Similar order date to OP.

And the real kick in the pants to others who are waiting is the fact that these builds go against dealer allocation and will push those reservation holders back even further.

Yeah that is true and just to clarify a little this is the order from the local dealer that was filled and not the one from Chapman. I also contacted Chapman immediately to ask them to cancel my order with them so hopefully move everyone below me up a spot and not waste one of their allocations.
