Please site. Not calling you out but I don't recall seeing or hearing this. Ford is asking us to cancel orders when requested by customers or when we know the customer isn't going to take. This is for reservations/orders that don't have assigned VINs. This is to help clear out some of the backlog in the scheduling system, allow customers to move up in the dealer's order group and help curtail the abandoned order ADM mess some dealers are engaged in.

I know they've said their intent is to build as many orders as possible but if they don't have components they are going to try and keep the plant working by building "stock". I don't know if that is still the plan but it was last year. We didn't see any "stock" last year nor have been told there would be any incoming. If we did, the plan is to offer it to one of our current reservation holders with the understanding their standing reservation gets cancelled. I don't see that happening because it doesn't appear there's much significant production taking place.
Are you a owner or work for a dealership .Not unless ford changed there mind and I dont remember anything about ford wanting people to cancel orders I know Ford stoped taking orders but I am sure when 2023 orders open up and most reservation still not filled Ford well be right back in the same spot taking more orders then they can fill.

I am a dealer. Unless they stop taking orders, you are right, back in same hole they dug. They have told us repeatedly to stay on top of our orders to make sure they are buildable. 99s are not a factor at this point, just 19s or lower. Part of the name match policy was to make sure we do our part to make sure the order is valid and customer still wants and if not, cancel it. The name policy has teeth but not enough to deter dealers from letting an order progress even if they know the person doesn't want it. They just have to worry about the % game later.

The great unknown at this point forward is how much of an attempt is Ford making to clear out buildable old reservations as opposed to anything after the first cutoff date. Second, why are some of these old orders still hanging around? Is it commodities or allocation? If allocation, why isn't this being communicated to the dealer or customer? If it's a commodity and the supplier is maxed out, why isn't this being communicated. Much easier to say, "we are dripping bull bar and mod bumper from all trims but BL or WT", like they did with PP. There are things they could float by customers that might greatly help clear up some of this log jam. They may not be received well but I bet a lot of people would be down for a few changes if that meant they would get a build week sooner than later.

Take this for what it is because I don't have any inside info. They've completely clammed up and seem content with that strategy. Personally, I don't see how that helps anything going forward unless they are hoping enough people get pissed enough to drop their orders.

Why wouldn't you have multiple orders when you have no idea how many units a dealership will get.

I agree the multiple orders affects us.
I agree that the reservations and orders should have been $1000.00
I agree that dealer employees and owners stack their deck to get their own cars.
I agree that covid has caused these delays. No one wants to blame who deserves blame.
I agreed to change from EG to Hot Pepper because 4,012,987 people are ordering EG since it was announced.
I agree that my response is annoying.
I agree someone needs to confirm what mud flaps will work with the AMP power side steps.

I agree to stop now.
:)

P.S. I agree that I would like a Raptor... Anyone want to help us get one?
I agree I want to know why the $40 mud flap won’t work with the rock rails and only the expensive one will. 🤣
