Hi Everyone,

This is my first time buying a new car and I would appreciate any advice people might have for me.

I ordered my bronco 2+ years ago and am finally scheduled for delivery next month. From everything I've read online, I know I should have my financing and extended warranty options determined before I go in to see if Ford will match their offers or not. I've also reached out to my dealer to make sure we're squared away (still waiting for a response). I'm also shopping my current car around to get the best trade in value I can. Beyond that, this is really my first rodeo so all advice is appreciated :)

Thanks!

Barring any shenanigans from your dealer I think you got it covered. Make sure you know your price protection number is all I can add, good luck.

You will almost always get a better deal by buying w/o trade. That is, when things are normal and purchase price is negotiable. With Broncos the option to buy at below MSRP is slim to none. Get a quote on your current ride from Carvana, CarMax or any BIG local dealer advertising they are always buying, no purchase necessary.

What’s your current car, and why not sell it privately if it’s in good shape? I always sell privately and always get thousands more than I’d get with a trade. Every dealer I’ve talked to has been more than happy to do a “courtesy trade” where I sell privately but do the transaction through the dealer so I reap the tax sayings.

The most I could get from all the online places as well as from my dealer for my 2017 Mini Clubman was $15k. I sold it privately for $18,500 and paid tax of the Bronco price - $18,500.

I sold all my cars this way.
