I have a WT on order already and am anxiously awaiting that but my husband recently decided he would like to also convert a FE reservation we had but not converted to an order yet. I have been struggling to get the dealer to respond for weeks and now we are being told they are no longer able to convert the reservation because the “system won’t allow them to” and they are asking to enter a new reservation hence losing our spot in line.

I know it is VERY late to be converting to order but we had spoken to customer service and our dealer several times and had been told converting the order later or now would be no problem. Has anyone heard of a deadline to covert the FEs that has passed? I spoke with customer service several times and have been told explicitly that there was no such deadline and that when one is announced it will be communicated from Ford.

At the moment the salesman is telling us to wait while he attempts to reach out to the Ford rep. I am just curious to see if any of you have had a similar situation or have any guidance…

Sounds like they don’t know what they are doing or assumed you wouldn’t convert and tried to hijack your FE to sell.

It could be that your FE has been scheduled internally for build and that’s why the dealer is not able to change it?

Sounds like you need to go into the dealership and give Ford customer service a call while your in the dealership. They’ll get it straightened out real fast at that point.
7/29 is the final scheduling of FE models for 2021 models. So best get on it ASAP.

That does suck. They told you could still order it before and should honor that. Hopefully they get it figured out.

On the other hand, I can understand the logistical nightmare this might be for Ford to continually have to figure out commodity strains and scheduling when people are still converting orders to sales this late in the year. How is Ford able to figure how many hard tops are needed if people keep coming in placing FE orders that are required to be built this year? There are only about 3 months left for MY21 scheduling and a lot of FE Broncos have still yet to be built or scheduled. I wonder how Ford will manage these FE orders coming in this late? There also has to be some sort of hard deadline for converting these. Maybe that deadline is September?

I’m not salty, I’m not getting a FE and my order is a soft top…But I would think by placing this order now you are bumping somebody else in your dealership to MY22 that was probably told that they made the allocation list. It also might bump a hard top order from someone who thought they were getting one this year. I know if my dealer told me initially that I made the allocation cut for MY21 and then was told months later that somebody decided to convert a FE into an order and that allocation now has to go to them, I would be upset. 🤷‍♂️

I have actually been told the opposite by Ford customer service a number of times. I was told that they will continue to fill the converted FEs next MY22. I called again this morning and was told the same thing after they "verified the information internally". They obviously don't always have the most up to date information though so take that info however you see fit. This is the info was told before converting and also what made me decide to go ahead and covert. I was hoping they could fix some of the manufacturing issues before mine was scheduled but of course that likely may not be a reality.

I was also working through some pricing concerns with my specific dealer and finally decided to just give in and eat the fees they were adding on. Not the typical or ideal situation but it is what it is.

I, like most on here, am just hoping to hear more communication from Ford directly very soon.
