Just checking if there are others with persistent engine light issues (same error each time see photo). We’re now in for the third time (2022 wildtrak Sasquatch) for check engine light:
1) 932 miles. purge valve replaced on warranty. Had failed evap test and showed internal failt
2) 1049 miles. Passed evap test. Dealer claimed there was debris (sand) in filler cap (not true) and no fault codes. Charged us $163. I paid it because wanted to give dealer benefit of doubt (they’re nice)
3) back in for check engine. Prob 1200 miles. No debris in filler cap and I took video to prove.
Question: are there others in this situation? I’m going to document for lemon law and wondering if there is class action on this? We have a lincoln with same filler cap and never had a check engine light. This Bronco has been in shop over the 30 day lemon law limit in New York.
Thx in advance for any help.

BACK TO THE DEALER SHE GOES!!!

Anyway, EVAP leaks are notoriously difficult to find. It is an extremely low pressure system and the sensors themselves are very sensitive. It's very easy to miss leaks the first go-around. I had an EVAP leak on my Focus that took me 8 months to track down. In the end I had a bad EVAP valve, and a bad seal on the hose back to the fuel tank. The bad seal in particular took me forever to figure out.

In my personal opinion, it is not worth triggering the lemon law over an EVAP leak. Federal law requires that it triggers the check-engine light for emissions, but EVAP issues typically don't indicate issues with the powertrain.

BUT, if you do feel like triggering the lemon law... I'll buy it from you so I can fix the leak and flip it for profit. 😁
They found another faulty evap part and replacing and also found front differential faulty. Bad bearing install at factory they suspect. 5 weeks for new front differential! Four repairs in 1200 miles.
