DIY Holster under steering wheel

I was looking for a holster solution.... but hesitant to screw a gun magnet to my new ride (which I have used and loved in my other vehicles).
Q: But Bill, those magnets also come with 3M Tape
A: True, but I'm not a fan of tape or suction cups in the Texas heat.

Q: What about retention?
A: I've never had an issue around town, paved road stuff. The holster does come with a snap on retention strap if your concerned about that while off-road driving.

So I didn't want anything that bolted on, there is an aftermarket under steering wheel solution, but I wasn't sure about the J hook it uses and if that would mess up the rubber gasket thing. Anyway, this is what I made.... (FYI: It was about a $20 project and nothing is permanent.... so if I find something better later, I can pitch this and there won't be a scar.)

What a great idea! I made my own by simply buying the nylon webbing strap and using a kydex holster I already own.

Drilled holes in the strap and holster then used the existing hardware to mount the holster to the strap.
Mounted under the steering wheel like you did and my PPD ( Personal Protection Device ) was to flush so I found a way to add a rubber spacer to use as a wedge to give enough room to make a firm purchase for a clean draw.
