Hello all,

I am going into the desert with my 2door Bronco. Normally I use my Land Cruiser 76 series and goes well. The question I have how can we switch off the airbag system in the cars? When I was surfing with a F150 Raptor the curtain airbags came out when going over the top of the dunes from 1 side to another. (basically the car thought we were rolling). So the dealer doesn't help in this. Can anybody tell which trick, fuse or other options we have to switch the airbags off?

Thanks.

Not a "switch" but you should be able to pull the fuse/relay.

Not rolling the car is also another option to keep them from going off

Fuse #66. It is labeled for the stab disconnect but the airbags also share that same circuit.
One thanks that helps. Let me check this tomorrow and try.

Raptor owner must not have been in offroad mode/baja mode. They are very hard to set off. I wonder if the bronco does the same in baja mode

The issue here is that you need to keep in 4H to be able to surf the dunes. In 4L your speed is too low and you overhead the gearbox.

Very late follow-up but are the air bags disabled or 'desensitized' when in 4 low or some of the GOAT modes? Just wondering.

I plowed into a rut the other day that i didn't see. I hit it hard enough to bend the IAG front skid plate pretty good, but the airbag didn't go off. I was running in Baja mode so maybe they are less sensitive.
