I started crawling there in the 1990’s in an Isuzu pickup, then moved onto my 87 Bronco. Unfortunately my Bronco is unlikely to see that trail, it’s a long drive from MA.

The trail is actually a lot tougher than it was in the 90s. The steps down to the three Feathers obstacle are very eroded and the steps are higher. Pretty much the whole trail is rocky now. The Joaquin Canyon section is much rockier.

I last ran it in 2018. I agree.

Honestly it's a lot more fun now. You should come back from MA, not much rock crawling there. :ROFLMAO:

Been there done that, I rock crawled all over AZ, UT, and NM from the late 1990’s to a few years back. Right now I’m on a boating kick, I’m on the water every weekend here, fishing and going to the beach mostly. If there‘s any water left I’ll likely head back to AZ for retirement in ~20 years. I lived in AZ for 41 of my 46 years, it will always be home to me.

Just joined the forums and saw this thread. I was there! My profile pic is from when I took the different line than everyone else on 3feathers (the 4 door cyber orange w/ a fender delete). That was an awesome day!

WHOOOO HOOOOO!!!! Made my first run into Chivo Falls in 1967 in a 1950 CJ3A. We camped heavily in that area, Italian Trap and a lot farther up towards the now Wilderness Area through the late 60’s and early 70’s. I don’t think we had any names for any of the obstacles then except for “The Grinder” which I believe your video covers.

Was up there with my future wife in the fall of 1977. Photos of her navigating the Willys across Tanque Verde Creek.
