Oh I know, would still have liked to ask. They avoid answering any real questions like the plague.
Yep, it’s embarrassing!

If the sales team didn't realize that folks who preorder a vehicle sight unseen are going to heavily skew toward enthusiasts who want the high-end features, then they need to go back to business school.

Plus, they had these reservations sitting in their system a year before production ramped up.

I think they foresaw the demand end of things much more clearly than they foresaw the supply issues.
I got a chuckle from your post. Yes, everyone is having supply line issues right now...well anyone that is actually selling high volumes of vehicles. I reserved my Wildtrak on day one and ordered in January. Just received it 2 weeks ago as it was pulled back just before delivery in order to get a Mic top 2.0. I have every option available and it was worth the wait.

they're basically saying "go buy a jeep". Next up: shortage on air for the tires, water for the radiator and warmth for the defroster - all of these things will delay your order
Nonsense, Fords always overheat.

Dont do it. I changed my order significantly to dodge these constraints and my Bronco has been "in production" for 96 days. Absolutely no reason I shouldn't have received it by now, but here I am with no clue when in '22 that I'll receive my '21 Bronco. Thanks for the advice @Ford Motor Company
Ouch.

Fear not, I'm not doing it.

I didn't do it in 2021 because my dealers 2021 allocations meant I was unlikely to get a Bronco in 2021. So unless they could guarantee I could jump the line, I wasn't going to do it. Turned out to be a good choice, because Ford couldn't deliver the full 2021 allocation numbers to dealers.

Now I'm not going to do it because inflation and the lack of price guarantees. As long as Ford stays true to their word I got price protection for 2022 and 2023. If I order it later as an accessory, who knows what it'll cost.

If Ford could come out and let us know what it would cost later down the road to buy a MIC top (or even offer a trade-in program for the soft-top to offset some of the cost of a MIC top), I'd be willing to consider removing the MIC top from my order... but not knowing whether a MIC top is going to cost $1500 or $5000 is not exactly giving me any encouragement to settle on my order for something I don't want.

We’ll, I don’t have the Sasquatch, Lux, or Paint protection, so I guess that puts me a little ahead of the curve? What, 3.5 years instead of 4, maybe?
How are those a 5-drop?

Anyway, on topic: yup supply constraints will continue for some time.

Great time to already have a car to drive!
