Yesterday after sending an unpleasant email to my dealership salesperson asking why my vehicle was on a "plant hold" since 4/20 when it was built, I finally was told it was a Windshield Wiper Motor that was delaying it. I thanked her for at least providing me the reason why. However, the next email I also included the dealership owner and I placed the question: "If a common part is holding up my vehicle, why do I see people who ordered after me getting their Broncos." It might need attention from "other sources" including Ford Management, the media, etc.
Amazingly enough less than 12 hours later, I see that my Bronco is now awaiting shipment. It certainly appears that someone picked up the phone and said build it.......
I'm from the Detroit area and grew up in an automotive family. The dealership network is huge here and it is (I believe) the largest leasing market in the country. New cars, test cars, leased cars, are a way of life here. Truthfully, buying a new vehicle never gets old and dealerships are truly excited to see people drive off with their new "pride and joy."
But this time around, after waiting 9 months for this Bronco, watching people at this site with just pure frustration and confusion over the sales process, including me, picking up this Bronco will simply be a transportation transaction. Shame on Ford for sucking the enjoyment from the sales experience. In the words of my sales person...they don't care, they simply don't care. Everybody in this process is getting a zero on the survey.
I apologize for venting but if I treated my customers like Ford has treated me I would be out of business.
Thanks for listening.
