Big wrong on the tow package. If you only want the hitch without the wiring your fine. If you need the wiring for lights and more then you better start reading. The wiring looks to be far from simple. The money Ford wants for it probably is your best option. Unless you want to butcher your new ride.

Gee, I think I mentioned that months ago when everyone thought this would be easy. I'm just an accountant, but when we had to do wiring on my 03 Taco, it was just like that. Huge PITA. My mechanic was shocked! Modern wiring and systems....

It's a CANBUS system not a CANNABIS one like you hoped for...

Gee, I think I mentioned that months ago when everyone thought this would be easy. I'm just an accountant, but when we had to do wiring on my 03 Taco, it was just like that. Huge PITA. My mechanic was shocked! Modern wiring and systems....

It's a CANBUS system not a CANNABIS one like you hoped for...

If your mechanic can't tap into a wiring harness and add wires he's not much of a mechanic. Having said that on most vehicles you just unplug a few connectors and insert new connectors in their place for added wiring.
Either way it's no big deal if you passed Basic Electricity.
The TBC however has to communicate with Ford's computer system so you are better off buying the Ford approved one from the B&P... And it still might have to be added to the system by a Ford tech.

You have some reading to do. Wiring is not like a 1970 Bronco. This has been discussed and documented on many threads. I have never seen any 2021 that has a non-factory 7 pin connector to date. Maybe you can show everyone? Do you know CANBUS systems?

Hello all, I have a 2 DR BL on order with a 10/30 reservation. Mid/Sas/Tow.

I have compiled a list of what I would be giving up if I switched to a base (other than Mid package content). This is partly me wanting a smaller payment and a bronco sooner. I don't need a Bronco for anything, but I'm getting antsy.

I have driven a 4 DR. Next week I should see and drive a 2 DR for the first time.
I'm also interested in what the options for 2022 will be.

Please vote and I will take it into consideration.

I say switch to Base Sasquatch. Go with the 2DR like your Badlands, unless you just want 4DRs. I went 4DR Base SAS with the 2.3 and I'm not disappointed. Drove a 2.7 and decided that if the 2.3 was 80% of the 2.7 I would be fine, it is and I am.

I was wondering why your price was soo much higher than mine, than I realized the tax penalty of living in California, been there and done that and won't repeat.

You may miss the MGV, but the cloth in the Base is pretty nice.

I'd wait on aftermarket bumpers and rock sliders. Nice stuff is coming and will probably be out by the time you get your ride. I'm really liking the stuff from Fun-Haver.

CANBUS? How about ISOBUS? Do you know what that is?
My John Deere's have both.. The CANBUS is used for communications between the three computers that control my tractors engine, hydraulic system and transmission. The ISOBUS is for communicating with implements from other manufacturers.
Computers on my tractor are used for everything- from the GPS, to the bale track monitor as well as the baler moisture meter computer.

You see lots of bitching on the internet that the system is locked down and you can't fix anything yourself. NOT true. I can see and read the diagnostic codes in the digital display on the dash and then look up the codes in the service manual. I have multiple CD service manuals for this particular tractor. The schematic/wiring diagram is 500 pages long. Deere ain't dumb either. Every wire in the harness has a number that corresponds to the wiring diagram. It's very easy to find the wire that you need in the harness for testing and/or tying into a wire

FYI televisions nearly 20 years ago had a data bus that was used for the main microprocessor to communicate with the tuner, audio IC, video IC, etc.. First system I saw like this was on a RCA TV.

Between what my dad taught me and what I learned in college I can troubleshoot and repair electronics, and computers. I can also weld, plumb, mechanics, do HVAC, woodworking and carpentry. I don't need to read a bunch of internet posts so I can act like I know something- I actually do...

Wow that’s great!
Now can you show all of us how to effectively install a trailer hitch on a base model that includes both 4 pin and 7 pin connectors? Then how about doing it on any other model for under the $595 Ford price?
If you can do that we will know your great.

@BoolooBronco I don't have much to offer that others haven't already mentioned, but I am wondering:

Do you have broad shoulders or are you a large person? Besides styling differences, the 2 door is roomier than the 4 door for the people in the front seat. I didn't expect or realize this until I sat in and drove both a 2 door and a 4 door Bronco. The front/only doors on a 2 door are longer than the front doors on the 4 door, which moves the B Pillar back a little. That made a pretty big difference in comfort factor for me. It's something to consider for larger people for sure.

And I'm just wondering if you aren't planning on going off road much, why opt for the Sas package?
