Raining alot this week and noticed the back up camera when it is raining and the camera lens is wet where it is located out of the middle of the spare tire mount is really terribly blurry and nearly useless. Plan on using some Rainex on it for now - Anyone else notice this Faux pax on the Bronco?

BTW- Had it out in the SNOW today and into Slippery GOAT mode = 4HIGH and all went quite well.

Ha yup! I just wipe it every time I start it. Try spraying glass sealant on it to add some slickness to it. Reduces the amount of grime accumulation before it needs cleaned

I have a BMW X3 and rain diminishes it’s rear camera effectiveness too.

Same. I try to wipe it each time I take it out in the rain. I keep a microfiber cloth in the door net for that purpose.

I was just wondering if there was something I could spray on it. It's definitely useless after a little bit of rain.

In case no one knows, if you hold down the Traction Control button for a few seconds it complete turns off the traction control creating a donut making machine in this snow!!

F150 is the same, as is Audi SQ5, Subaru, etc. I have got in the habit when I park I will wipe the lens with my thumb. That way is is at least clean when I back out.

Yup, same here. My '14 and '18 Escape rear cameras used to get like this all the time, too, and I had a cloth in the driver's side rear door pocket. I bought a new cloth for the Bronco just so he wouldn't get a hand-me-down. 😄

This gets me to thinking how much would the parking sensors might be effected by adverse weather. Hopefully they would remain reliable in such instances when the camera is of no help.

It's not the weather normally that effects parking sensors but the dirt and mud, they do have an effect for sure.

Good point. This will my first vehicle with them & my guess they will be more trouble than they are worth over time. I'm also guessing /hoping you can turn them off once they start failing? I would hate to have to keep replacing them every time a rock smashed them or they just up & failed.

I personally like them on my truck but it only has a rearview camera which is good for most things. I find I use them quite often especially once you've accepted what they really mean in terms of distance to a tree, bush or car. I would suggest you learn how to disable them though for off-roading. In my Truck its a button for the front and another for the rear. In the Bronco I think but don't quote me on this, it might be a touch screen setting.
