So, normally I turn off auto start stop. Today I didn’t hit that dumb button.

anyway, coming up to a stop light, it shut off like normal however, with all of 240 miles on the motor, it dieseled very briefly as it auto stopped. Auto started no issue. No lights etc. not a single problem. But I don’t know if that’s normal for this motor for some reason? I wouldn’t think so.

I was wondering if anybody else experienced this.

Curious how it dieseled if it shut off normally? Was it dash indicated that the A.S.S. did it's thing before it actually shut off?

Yes. It indicated it was doing the auto start stop, but then got in a very quick diesel rotation. We can call it a short series of heavy pings I guess. The dealer filled it with regular, but my worry is that if the tuning adjusted to the regular and diesel/pinged, wouldn’t it readjust to the super and possibly do the same thing?

only way that happens is if the injectors are still being driven or are leaking, neither is likely, so I am leaning towards you came off the brake enough as you were stopping that it tried to start again and then shut off after some fuel was injected.

My guess is you feathered the brake pedal as you came to a stop and the A/SS got confused, tried to restart, and then shut off.

So, that’s kind of why I wanted to ask. I came to a full stop, but I’m not 100% on how the computer controls the auto start stop. For all I know there’s a function built in as to prime it for the restart. I was coming around a large jug handle in 3rd and I thought maybe I loaded up a little bit?

Alright well thank you for the input. I’m going to keep my eye on it and if it happens again I’ll pay attention to any other details.
