Time will tell, but its a strong filament and most of the hook and surfaces are solid (and the base does flare with a chamfer). I clamped a test print down and tried to snap the ring off with a prybar, and with reasonable forces it wasn't even deforming.
They will go onto the rear of the hard top where the indentations are (same place that roof racks lock into). This will be part of a setup for a rear awning for the beach, one side will clip onto the roof with these, and the other side supported by a pair of collapsible poles and then staked to...
Final version, printed in PETG-CF.
View of the clamping mechanism, left side deployed, right side retracted. The little rubber pads were bigger than they were supposed to be (ordered half inch, but they are closer to 3/4 in reality), so looks kinda janky trimmed down - but no one will ever...
Design in progress, but seems like this will work. Will share a file to it once complete for anyone that is looking for a way to mount something up there. My plan is a pair of these to secure a rear shade sail. On the other side of the screws are half inch wide 3D printed pucks with rubber grip...
I was wondering if anyone happened to have an STL for a part that fits onto the rear MIC roof (where roof racks clip into)? I have an idea, was hoping to get started with something that already fits there, but otherwise will get to work on modeling it.
Careful, most of the well-priced raptors around the philly area currently are lemon buybacks, and there's a trio of them in NJ with ~7K very hard miles, appear to be off-rodeo vehicles (commercial use in NV). I almost bought a couple of them before getting to the carfax, lol.
