Straight from the manual Mr. Smartass.
4A provides electronic control four-wheel drive with power delivered to all four wheels, as required, for increased traction. The information display will display 4A when this mode is selected. This mode is appropriate for all on-road driving conditions...
Sorry but your wrong. 4A runs in 2H 99% of the time and only engages 4wd when it senses it needs it. It's literally in the owners manual and numerous ford engineers who designed the system say the same.
UPDATE: Ford found the transfer case was indeed bad stating it was stuck in 4H ALL the time and are replacing it under warranty. Multiple techs took the truck for a drive and immediately knew something was wrong.
Considering the fact that doesn't apply to vehicles with 4A because everything on there is for base models WITHOUT 4A. Sport and slippery default to 4A in my vehicle.
Thats what I figured. I'm not stupid this truck is NOT supposed to bind up on a 3mph turn into a parking spot. Also even driving in a straight line I'm getting power to all 4 wheels like the exact same issue you were having.
The problem with your assessment is I'm not doing anything you're describing. It's in slippery GOAT mode which goes into 4A, making a 2-3mph without my foot on the gas turn into a parking spot while it was raining. The wheels should not be chirping like that...
That's exactly what I read. It's NOT normal. The car was going less than 5mph into a parking spot and it started binding. The vehicle has almost brand new KO2s and I've never had issues with them binding like that before.
That's exactly what I thought. Guy was an idiot. I was going less than 5mph turning into a spot with just the vehicles weight didn't even touch the gas.
Hey everyone. Picked up a 22 Badlands fully loaded wirh 47K miles a few weeks ago. Haven't really used 4WD other than sport mode and Baja in the sand trails in my local Forrest. Used 4A slippery mode the other day and noticed when pulling into a parking spot at super slow speed the front wheels...
