while doing my rail measure up i noticed a piece of square tube bolted into a bracket on the frame between the tire and pinch weld. anyone know the purpose of this feature? my heritage le has the bracket on the frame but no tube.

measured rails at local ford dealer. non-raptor rails are approx. 75" while raptor rails are approx. 72".

we did a measure up on a raptor vs our heritage ltd and believe this would be the best compromise for us. i am not totally ruling out aftermarket sliders with steps. i need to see some in person. thx for the help

thx for the input. nice rig btw. thought about them but i may go off road; so, they could get rock railed. i crack myself up with the crap i say "rock railed"

i would like to buy a set of oem raptor rails/steps with brackets and hardware. wife needs better steps than the heritage tube steps. thx, jl
