Where did you mount the Solenoid? I kind of poked around for a logical place and did not find a satisfactory spot in the engine bay. The fender area looks most promising, but I will need to fab a mounting plate to bolt it to. For now, I have it directly to the battery. I will tap the winch...
It's not a hard rub, and those cast end tanks are SCH40\80, so not like thin boost pipe, which is why im not stressing over it. I will inspect periodically. I imagine it will make a shiny spot on the L R endcaps.
Side Note: Are the color combos on the AUX switches the same as the Raptor? I found a doc listing the colors. I have not yet finished the wiring, but the FMIC and HB winch install was enough for one weekend of faffing about.
I was hoping there was a better solution. When you have T. rex arms, it's harder to reach. I will practice in the driveway prior to any trail use. I was thinking about having the lay in the mud to get at it. I guess I could spool out on power. It will take a while, but it's faster than other...
I installed mine this weekend. I used a 3/8" 6061 aluminum plate and fabricated a set of shims, scribing them to match the Hammer Built mount. The fit looks good overall. There may be a slight amount of rubbing, but nothing that concerns me.
Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to clock...
If you’re using a spacer, why would you also need to cut the mount? That sounds more like an either/or solution unless I’m misunderstanding the issue.
Is the main problem just slight rubbing/contact with the FMIC, or does it physically prevent the install from bolting together correctly? In...
I placed this order about a month ago, and yesterday, I received an email from Ford stating that my order had been successfully canceled. When I called to ask about it, they told me it was out of stock. I said that was fine, and I’d be willing to wait, but they told me that waiting wasn’t an...
Based on dash numbers we’re currently at 18.3mpg: 24 4D SAS mileage is mixed city/short highway. IIRC our only overnight trip packed with camping gear and dogs we were about 17. We always burn 92.
I installed mine last month, the hardest part was understanding the instructions, it varies slightly depending on which bumper you have. I’d call it an easy install once you sort the vagaries of the install. It does feel involved when you start removing the interior parts to get at the factory...
Have you considered the Mickey Thompson Baja AT? They’re extreme snow rated—we had them on my F150, and they were fantastic. Not noisy, with excellent snow performance. They have a stiffer sidewall, but they’re built tough for the trails.

Do you see a horsepower increase with the stock tune, or do you also need to do Ford Perf? I am savvy on turbo cars and understand the FMIC upgrades, etc. Will this FMIC impact the winch install?
When I got mine, it felt a bit strange not having a paper manual to flip through. Then I realized my 2020 F150 Platinum, which has better electronics, actually outperforms the nearly $65k vehicle in some ways—especially considering it doesn't even come with rain sensors! I was searching for oil...
This looks strong and light. I wonder about the grippy nature of aluminum vs. steel, but for the occasional drag across a rock, it seems it would not be a big deal, but the peace of mind it gives.
