I'm going to switch to the bending solution just above. @KenV , does that require removing the main pivot and entire lid for spring access? Yes, it does require removing the pin and lid to access the springs for bending.

Update: I purchased a new heritage Bronco and decided to the same console lid mod that I did to my previous Outer Banks. I bent the two springs slightly more than shown and the lid pops open all the way very nicely. 15 min DIY to perform this mod! I also hated how the console lid comes...
