I lived through that experience as well using an RVI brake setup so it's not your Brake Buddy. I now pull fuses as well. The 5" wait time is the real PITA especially arriving at a non- pull through location. Too bad there isn't a way to get Ford to remedy this
I flat tow a 24 BL SAS allot and have never had an issue. ( Luckily) I do not leave the fob in the Bronco but keep it in the front of my MH about 30 ft away.
What is his logic in keeping the fob in the bronco??
I do have an RVI battery charger in the loop and monitor that from my MH. It...
I'm probably approaching 10k miles of flat towing my 24 Bad Lands SAS using the D rings. I did install the LOD bumper reinforcement brackets. I also use an auxiliary braking system and a Roadmaster all-terrain tow bar. I did need to purchase the adapters for the Roadmaster tow bar to attach to...
I use the complete RVI setup as well and was surprised to see that you never got the TPMS to work anywhere. I agree it's a bit sketchy and at times I've dropped a wheel or 2 for extended times. I assume you did pair them when you first installed.
I have been watching this thread and others like it for well over a year and have never seen documentation of a confirmed root cause for the problem. Consider yourself very fortunate however that Ford took responsibility and fixed yours. That seems to be pretty rare as well. If I may ask, what...
My situation with my 24 2.7 BL SAS. I'm using the RVI3 aux brake. Before I install it each time, I will pump the brakes several times just to release any braking energy in the system. I started doing that after speaking to the technical guys at rvi describing my problem to them. The EBB...
I've FT close to 8k this summer with no drive train issues. I do have an issue with the brake booster turning on and creating a brake pickup situation.
I just FT again this week and pulled fuses for the first time. Brake unit worked flawlessly. Time to start making noise with Ford as they need to make this work without the fuse intervention
I too have a 24 4A transfer case. Have FT approx 8k miles this summer. Always engages FT on first try but doesn't always disengage. The message seems contradictory however as it says neutral tow engaged, drive forward. I simply put in drive or reverse and the vehicle moves and message clears. I...
Just returned from a 13 week 7500 mile escape the AZ heat trip. Flat towed my 24 BL SaS without issue. Went in and out of neutral tow 30+/- times with no issue. I did video the engage process each time just in case. I'm using the RVI3 brake and still have brake lock up issues even after a Ford...
In April this year I flew AZ to Rochester NY to buy. AZ has low inventory plus what they had was at MSRP. In NY knew a dealer selling at invoice plus all incentives. My local dealer is servicing with a smile
We have been flat towing our 24 2.7BL SAS for several weeks now and using the RVI3 braking system. Some days it works flawlessly, but other times after traveling some distance seems to malfunction. With a mild application of braking in the MH, RVI seems to lock up the Broncos brakes and does not...
Actually there are demonstrations of how either of those situations have damaged the bronco frame but if you recall fundamental physics, the formula for kinetic energy is 1/2mv squared where v is velocity. Anytime you add speed to the equation, applied forces increase rapidly
There is a big difference between seldom used, low speed, hopefully we'll planned use of a recovery point vs the continuous and at times extreme forces that are applied as you tow a vehicle down the road at highway speeds.
