I did not dismount tires, the bash rings actually make masking off very easy. I just removed the bash rings and masked the wheel where the rings mount.
I did it in my garage myself. I wouldnt consider myself a pro by any means with paint, but the satin was very forgiving. Ive heard its all in the prep, so I fastidiously cleaned, scuffed with red scotchbrite, recleaned, then 4 coats of satin paint, and 3 coats of satin clear. Time will tell...
Nope, lots of prep and sprayed with a gun. My rings do their job and get bashed up a decent amount on the trail, this way I can touch them up when needed. My fear with powder was not being able to do that.
