Thanks all for the great recommendations. We ended up staying at the Castle Valley Inn (in their cabin). The host, Scott, was great and the cabin was comfortable. It is just up the road from the Off Roadeo base camp, in a deep, narrow valley. There are a ton of deer and turkey on the property...
Thanks! We will have a rental car. We're actually flying into Denver, and we'll stay in Avon on the way there, and Vail on the way back, with a couple of days in Moab to explore the area.
Thanks everyone!! I spoke again with the front desk at Red Cliffs and they really are running on a limited basis while they renovate. They are still offering mindfulness sessions, but that would be seriously wasted on me. I cancelled the reservation.
As an alternative, I just booked the cabin...
My wife and I are attending the Off Roadeo in Moab next week. I just called to make dinner reservations and learned that the lodge and the restaurant are closed for renovations. They are serving food from a limited menu at the Bronco building, and most of the other amenities are not available...
No need to replace the UCAs with such a mild "lift". I am up just a little over an inch from factory, at most. I don't think you'll need UCAs until you get closer to 3". I did ask the shop if they had any issues with the alignment and they said they had no problem at all.
Here's an update on the suspension work following the winch install. The thinking behind it and the write up are here: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/correcting-ride-height-and-quality-after-installing-the-ford-performance-winch-kit.101971/
Most of the below is copied from that thread...
Ford Performance Winch Kit Install
Parts:
Ford Performance winch kit $923
Rough Country parking sensor extension cables $36
Ford Ranger parking sensor relocation kit (wrong size for what I wanted) $30
Mountains2Metal front camera relocate kit with ADD cover $210
I bought the Ford...
Here's the follow up on this thread after a few days and miles on the new shocks.
I had the Bilstein 6100 shocks installed on the factory Badlands Sasquatch springs.
The 6100 series shocks have height adjustability through six circlip slots. I installed the front shocks at location 5 (second...
Thanks for the help with this.
I bought the 6100 shocks at a great price from Panda Motorworks after considering the assembled 6112s. I don’t have access to a spring compressor I trust for these springs, so I am going to pay for the install at the same time I have new wheels swapped in.
I...
Thanks for the insight. I'm wondering how much going to the highest circlip setting impacts your ride quality.
I don't mind a bit of a firmer ride, but I don't want it to be harsh. I've put a few more miles on the truck since installing the winch and the weight isn't quite as noticeable as I...
Thanks everyone. I am going to have the 6100 series shocks installed with the factory SAS springs next week to see what sort of improvements that makes. I’ll report back with an update once I put a few miles on the set up.
I have a 2023 Badlands with the Sasquatch package. It’s a four-door and came with the modular bumper.
My goal is to add the Ford Performance winch kit, Bilstein 6100 shocks (using the factory SAS springs), and new wheels. I have the 6100s and wheels in my garage, and I installed the winch this...
I installed an ExoShield Ultra film and have had great luck so far. I’ve just had a couple small hits, so I haven’t had a chance to test it against a proper rock yet, thankfully. It does lower the blood pressure when driving as the windshield is not a constant worry anymore. Installation was...
Thanks!
Yep, it was a separate package in a box just as you described. The parts department was closed when I picked it up on Saturday and the guy that helped must not have known about it.
I ordered the sensor relocation kits from Rough Country and will order the camera relocation kit from Mountains To Metal. I’m not willing to give up either function.
