I think I'm going to drop Amazon Music and do a trial period of YouTube Music. I used it back when it was Google Play and switched to Amazon Music two years ago to upload songs. But they no longer offer that service. And there's the issue of them really sucking now.
My Amazon Music issues...
I haven't compared the specs between the 8" and 12" systems, but it is conceivable that they are diverged quite a bit. I'd expect a more powerful processor for the larger display, and maybe they changed the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios as well just for funzies. Who knows.
There does appear to be a correlation with the display size. I wonder why that would be? It's not like it is just one issue, every aspect of this integration blows.
Oh, the "Play such and such" voice command to play music feature isn't integrated with Amazon Music, I get some snarky error about not having the right app. Really?
I do have it disabled at the SYNC 4 side currently. It's easy to re-enable, GPS appears to be the only functionality I need if Amazon Music doesn't straighten up.
I've had it for a few years, and it kicked ass up until recently. At one point it forgot ALL my ratings. Then they sort of came back but is still in that five band loop. I use the same app to Chromecast to my home theater receiver over WiFi, and the audio is rock solid.
This is not good news.
Correct, 8" screen. Sadly, Ford has discontinued this size on all models for 2024. That means this variant won't get much attention during software maintenance moving forward. I could be pleasantly surprised.
New SMS messages appear in AA, just old messages don't. I could be a permissions issue I guess, but I have no idea how to enable that. The silence during text to speech is some sort of bug.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S22 with mostly default settings and hardly any apps installed. I use the wireless (Bluetooth/WiFi connection) as well as a wired USB connection.
Here is my list of grievances:
- The touch panel becomes partially unresponsive. This is random and mainly affects...
I have some marks on mine from trails and I may have swiped them with some wax (the enemy of plastic).
I wonder if PlastiX is a good choice for cleaning those? I have half a bottle of that left over from a previous vehicle. It is good stuff, but all plastics are different. Maybe I'll try on...
Very conclusive, thanks. So softer ride and steering and an exhaust note difference. Traction control is disabled by default, so I don't have to push that other button thingie.
Does anyone know the impedance spec of the stock kick panel speakers in ohms? Or, has anyone ohmed them out (even better)?
I'm reading reports of having to wire the speakers in series after replacing just the dash speakers with aftermarket variants. I wouldn't expect series or parallel wiring...
Can anyone determine what gauge that yellow-red subwoofer amp power cable to the battery junction box is? I have it in my notes that it is 12-gauge, but in that photo it looks pretty beefy.
