  1. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

I'd imagine once the speakers break in in about ~30 hours it'll become an easier process. Some of the brilliance on the top end is already softening. What fan do you recommend to put under my seat to keep the amp cool?
  2. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

In time. I dont have the $600 right now for that tuning and the manual tune i did seems good enough to compare with my experiences on playback in recording studios. I’m pretty satisfied for my ears, but eventually dsp will be the next step.
  3. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

No, i set the crossover points/high low pass manually. For my specific application I didnt feel a DSP was worth the cost. I knew more or less what I wanted to set, used a frequency generator playing sine waves at the target frequencies and a multimeter for ideal voltages at that frequency. The...
  4. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

hey Brian, question here ive yet to implement forsescan to remive the highpass filter from the rear pods. From the upgrades ive seen, people also turn on the sub, but I didnt need to. Is that because the “turn on” is just sending power to what should be that amp at the rear? very curious to...
  5. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

PlugNPlay wiring T-harness wired to send signal from head unit to the musway which then splits into 8 channels (ch 7-8 are bridged for sub)

  7. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

Update! the build is done!! Before installing the amp i had installed the speakers. The 6.5”s at the rear (originally 4”s) were the biggest upgrade, followed by the 4”s in the dash due to the distortion at higher volumes. The 6.5” in the kick panels were nice, but not as big of a change...
  8. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

Major snag The grommet/firewall everyone runs their power wire through (atleast for automatics) seems to be fully occupied and inaccessible for the power wire. I am at a loss for alternatives.
  9. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

Does anyone know which color wired from the factory sub wiring harness are positive and which are negative? I fogure since its already back there i could just splice into it
  10. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

Update after losing daylight I may wait until Friday before I make anymore progress. I still have to remove the passenger seat and run all the wiring. I think that type of work isnt suitable for flashlights. On the bright side I did take the opportunity to add foam and deadener to the...
  11. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

ive done the rear. Was very throrough with dampening on the enclosure, also did the ribs. Most of the enclosure has either one very thick layer (boommat) or two thinner layers. The rear pannel also has a ton of coverage, it was actually a but if a struggle to fit the enclosure back in. I dont...
  12. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

Some updates: yesterday I was out fishing, got back late because of the rain - no time to work. So far today though a ton has been accomplished. The sub is set in the enclosure, port has been sealed (a plastic cover, that had dampener placed on both sides, pvc glue, and silicone, plus three...
  13. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

the DSPs I’ve seen are normally inside of the amp. Know of any standalone DSPs?
  14. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

    1. Yes, but I’m refering to any on the fly adjustments I’d want to do while driving after tuning the amp. IE if I’m in my car a week from now and playing a certain album where id want to nudge the treble in one direction or another. 2. This Musway doesnt have dsp so my tuning will be done...
  15. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

hey Brian your posts have been a huge help to me so far. What are your thoughts on sealing methods? I dont have aluminum laying around, but my buddy has a CNC that he can laser cut some ply to fit the port. Was thinking this plus some pvc concrete and silicone to fill gaps. The sub has to...
  16. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

Under the passenger seat. I dont have washout floors so that but isnt of concern. Your video is the only ive found on this set up so it was actually a huge help. two questions for you Preface: I’m intending to use the dash speakers with the high pass. All the high end and high mids from there...
  17. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

Three layers? man thanks for that I’ll just use what i thought was going to be excess for the doors on the enclosure. Got plenty of foam tape I’ve got a pound if polyfill anyways so I’ll toss it in, and maybe save a bit for the yet to be intstalled kick panel speakers.
  18. My Audio Build - Musway eight.100 7 speaker set up via PlugNPlay

Hi everyone! long time lurker first time poster. Creating this thread to document the build and to pose questions I cannot otherwise find answers to on the forum. Here is the set up: Kickers in the dash, and kick pannels Polk Audio 6.5” DB652s in SSV pods (thanks bigmac5166) Musway eight.100...
