Shocks are considered a wear item ( technically an heavy wear item) and not covered by most automotive manufactures. There is a few extended warranties that do cover shocks though. Another option would possibly have been to see what the shock manufacturer Warrantee was.

My dealer had mine done for me before I took delivery. mine is a 2door also and I'm sure it’s area specific on costs too. If I remember right it was 800 For mine. I’ve watch pricing around here and it’s all over the place. A good one i think is worth every penny of the cost. I haven’t checked...
