What I am experiencing isnt normal by any means and regardless of other Bronco owners and all the internet AWD engineers saying that is the way its meant to behave; Ford found that it was defective.
In my case when the vehicle is in 4A when the wheel is turned it binds the right rear wheel and starts to vibrate as you move forward. They tried it after removing the front driveshaft and it still did it, so they determined it was the transfer case that was faulty. I am still waiting on one...
My dealer at first said this was normal and I had them do a figure 8 in the parking lot while in sport mode (4A ) and they are now replacing the transfer case.
I just got off the phone with my service manager and based off all their testing they determined that the transfer case needs to be replaced. They tried sourcing a TC from a local dealer and cannot find one so they ordered one which is on backorder. I was told I could still drive my Bronco in...
This is EXACTLY how it WAS behaving prior to me taking it in... I drove the Bronco a few months daily (50 miles/day) and everything was working as it should.
The binding / rubbing was under no load (rolling) in a circle. Reluctantly I drove it on 4a for a mile while it was doing this to see...
When the issue first manifested I had driven to a store in Sport mode which by default it changes from 2H to 4A and from previous times (4 months of use) its always behaved the same way. (I go around a roundabout leaving and entering my community and it never had an issue in 4A) Well this time...
This isn’t normal by any means…
I am having the same exact issue. I already took mine (2/14/23) and I have yet to hear what is wrong. The service manager told me they were leaning towards replacing the transfer case. Hopefully I have an answer tomorrow.
I dropped my BD at the dealer yesterday and the service advisor today told me they are still investigating the issue. A TSB would be great to reference.
I totally get that but I've had 4WD vehicles before as well as AWD vehicles and none acted like this. Also, it wasn't doing it when I backed out of my driveway (in Sport Mode 4A) and when I exited my community by going around the roundabout. On my way home it going around the same roundabout...
After parking while in Sport mode when backing out (back in sport mode) I felt a binding while in reverse and when I drove forward and turned the wheels. I could switch out of 4a and the binding stopped. I then switched into 4H and tried going in reverse and it felt really restricted. It...
