Huh? Just 22% of light duty cars & trucks sold in the USA are Hybrid. So I guess you could say that, but the message is, the market is rejecting hybrids.
The reason is pretty obvious, more complexity, more things to go wrong, you rarely if ever recoup the added costs of the hybrid powertrain...
I feel like Bi-Xenon was the sweet spot for headlight tech. Had none of these issues, and had about the same brightness. Longevity was “good enough”.
Or what am I missing here? What problem did the LEDs solve that outweighed the negatives?
The design is definitely poor IMO. I own a 2021 Wrangler as well (because why not both?), and the top on there is night and day. Very little wind noise, it's probably 85% as good as a roof/top which isn't removable.
Youtube is your friend. Sounds suspension'y to me, could also be steering components. But you can also see in this video, it can be odd stuff like engine mounts too.
I've also seen people bolt bluetooth cameras and stream to their phone while driving, directional mics, you name it. Car people...
For those of us who have disabled the auto start/stop feature. Is the Auto-hold feature compatible with the disabling of auto start/stop? Or you must enable auto start/stop for Auto-hold to function?
Thanks for all the great work on this thread!
I had the fabled Mercedes-Benz, Germany trained, $200/hr techs over torque my lugs to the point where they sheered off while I was driving through an intersection, causing one of my wheels to be liberated from the hub.
Let me tell you… nothing sinks your stomach like seeing your own wheel go...
Goto the update schedule screen, and do not select any days. That should disable it. You can also factory reset, and just never select days to do the auto update. That should prevent it from being automatically applied, even if cellular is enabled.
Black chrome is not the same finish as gloss black. Gloss black will exactly match the finish of the Wilkdtrak Bronco on the rear door, the chrome black finish will not.
Can you guys actually make a matching gloss black? I’d love a finish that is consistent with the rear door finish.
Doubt it, this area is getting hammered with layoffs still, and very aggressive “performance management”. LinkedIn this week. Real estate is in SF is tanking pretty good too (down >30% from highs). The mood is still pretty cautious around here with big purchases.
But maybe there are some...
Reminds me of the great National Park mud pit parking spot of 2023. The parking lads asked if it was ok if I waded into a mud puddle of 5-6” deep as no other vehicles dare use the spot, for fear of getting stuck and ending up on Matt’s Off-road Recovery YouTube channel. I agreed to the spot...
Totally sucks, wheel locks were literally my first stop as I drove home. I live in SF bay, so I'm naturally super paranoid given our... *cough* law enforcement *cough* standards here. I don't even dare park the Bronco anywhere the city ... I have a beater car for when I have to do that...
Here’s how I’d describe this: 🤡🤡🤡 (with circus music playing in the background)
Honestly… I work in fortune 50. I haven’t a clue how these Ford execs keep their jobs. Mind blown.
My guess is it’s half demand and half a sales tactic. For example, Cyber orange was a fun color — the launch color no less — but nobody ordered it so it got dropped.
My guess is, they will introduce more interesting colors in future years to stir up sales once the backlog is finished.
Double honk can be avoided if you just leave drivers door open while you do whatever you need to do. This way the car knows you are coming back, and the key leaving is temporary. You can also just leave key in center console.
Doors can also be opened w/o double honk if you remote start.
Off topic, but try cleaning & lubing your rear window gaskets and struts with Krytox, solved my problems. If it’s suspension issues, that’s a different ball game.

I think I read somewhere in the "Name Match is Back For 2023" aka OVP thread (watch the video from a dealer in the first post) that there's only something like 64k broncos in the order backlog and 28% of those are at risk of being cancelled on March 7th if they don't do OVP. Ford can make around...
The problem is, once the order backlog is cleared, folks who overpaid with ADMs are going to see the value of their vehicles tank hard. The market give'ith... and it will take'ith away all the same.
