OP here. So it happened again. This time the entire dash lit up / and continues to - brakes went out yet again. @Ford Motor Company How can this be safe? This time it seemed like everything just went out all at once for no reason:
- Check Brake System
- Park Brake, Limited Function Service...
Mine was ultimately the Brake Vacuum Sensor. The dealer couldn't find anything wrong though (initially) so they were going to replace the whole brake system until Ford corp got involved. Apparently it was / is the same issue as the F150ās Ford had a while back - from what I was told.
Yes - my...
Yes - they said the same to me. After replacing the vac line, my bronco continued to throw the alert but would reset when I turned the car off and on again... After finally contacting Ford directly (thanks to this forum), Ford was able to direct the dealership on how to diagnose and they...
FYI - They did the same for me (replace vac line) but it keeps happening. Since they replaced the vac line its no where near as bad but it still continues to occur - but usually after 1.5 hours and using cruise control I continue to get the error and funky pedal resistance. With these...
Quick question on the bestop trektop - outside of the install - how difficult is it to convert back to hard top? Meaning if you want to throw the hard top back on does any hardware need to be removed / does anything get in the way if you want to throw the mic back on ?
That was it - Got more info from shop. They replaced the vacuum booster line - āknown issueā. SSM 50314 (diagnostic P050F I believe). Assuming this will be one of the first of many.
Yeah I told my dealer I might enact the lemon law in CA, he told me Iād be better off selling it as Iād make more $. I love the car just not sure if I can trust it at this point.
According to the tech I spoke to he was looking at the the known issue Ford site he has access to and this issue was posted on Nov 30th ā did they tell you the same?
Ha! Good for you. As I mentioned we are getting more info, although this is a really serious issue that needs to be addressed and if others have experienced similar situations this is how we will get Ford to remedy. Not all of us are firefighters and engineers but we aren't idiots. Safety is...
For sure ā Iāll update that when I get it. In my situation the brake system alarm message cleared but the brake light (the one that shows up when your e brake is on) stayed illuminated and remains illuminated. Do you know if we can get that info from the Ford pass app? Shouldnāt that show car...
Yup. In my OP I mentioned it was a really tough press and I used that in combo of the shift buttons to pull over. But in that situation when I felt the crazy push back pressure and the dash alarm was going off I jammed my foot on the brake but I wasn't stopping fast enough. Iām sure in hindsight...
Nope. I sure havenāt. In my situation I was going too fast- 70mph. How fast were you going when you pulled it- what was the situation? How were your brakes after that?
Yeah totally- Iām still waiting on the shop to get more info on exactly what about this was the known issue (ie 2.3, Outer Banks, what building it was from⦠etc) but - I am still waiting on them to fix as the part has to come from Michigan. So ā¦. Yeah I had my car for 2 weeks and this happened...
