That actually brings up a good point. The 4th gen 4Runners had a different hitch depending on what engine - the V6 had the crossmember mounted hitch with a 500 tongue weight / 5000 tow rating and the V8 had a frame mounted hitch with a higher (7000 tow rating I think?). Maybe those photos above...

I'd like to see towing capacity at 6k+ lbs, but looking at some of the earlier spy photos it has the hitch bolted to the rear crossmember (same as the Wrangler and 4Runner) instead of going back to the frame. It's unlikely that hitch will be rated for more than 500lbs, so the tow rating won't be...
