After having stupidly not placed an order when MY21 order banks opened, I finally managed to get one! 2 Door Outer Banks 2.3L with dealer upgraded wheels/tires, running boards, Sasquatch flares, and leveling kit. Price was essentially MSRP + part cost. Funny thing was I found the original dealer...
Like @brunjc2 said, buying and building are two different things! Also, building will be thousands less then buying. (This isn’t the first time I have done this to a new car! All that’s required is patience and eBay....)
Oh I plan to do ALOT to my poor base Bronco.... Basically a la carte with the OEM stuff I want and none of the stuff I don't want... Did the same with my 2015 Mustang when it was new. I was part of the first group that figured out how to upgrade the base 4" screen to the 8" Sync screen.
So...
Right so if it is routed through the PCM then your method might work. If routed through the PCM then the PCM would likely just be activating a solenoid and thus should be easy to just wire it to a switch (would be funny if someone wired it to the AUX switches). If it works the way I am hoping...
That is likely CAN. Hopefully this is a stand alone system (2 power wires and 2 CAN BUS).... If that is the case then it would be incredibly easy to install. If however it is being controlled by the PCM then it makes it a tad harder as it could also require a tune to activate it even if you...
So it does look self contained which is good from a hardware standpoint. Now just need wiring diagrams of the bronco to know how it’s being controlled....
Not quite a tuner but I plan on having a 07 mustang as a project car/driver while also having the bronco. The tesla will move to the wife's daily and we will likely trade her focus in.
Of course I also still have the 70 as the fun weekend car!
Realistically there shouldn't be much stopping you from swapping the OEM disconnect into the vehicle. The question is going to be how far Ford buried the system in the rest of the vehicle. What I mean by that is if it is hydraulic, there likely is some type of control valve of module that the...
God those wheels are terrible..... Tires/wheels will be the number 1 thing I upgrade if I get a pure base. I would even have the wheels and tires ready to go at home so I can drive it off the lot, straight home, and install. That’s how much I HATE the base tire setup....
Perfect! Thanks for the info. So assuming the order guide is correct, base model it is for me with the 2.7l. Sucks they limit the color options on the Base but the Oxford White or velocity blue should do. I will upgrade it through aftermarket support.
Hope the OP doesn't mind if I jump on here with another question.... I see the base model does not have an "option" for remote start where as the big bend does yet the base has FordPass... Is the remote start option on the big bend just for the key fob? Or does Ford take it to the point where...
Exactly my problem.... My two favorite colors are the two that are not offered on the base model.... Jumping to big bend will get me both to choose from but a color is not worth $5k to me...
The more and more I have thought about it, its Base all the way for me. Pretty much everything I would want in higher trim levels (vinyl floor, Marine grade vinyl seats, heated seats, 33" tires, premium tail lights, etc...) I can add after the fact (vinyl floor will be ordered direct from ford...
I think it is Cactus Grey as it is the same prototype seen in the OP (I think). The color correction/alteration of the photo makes it appear more blue.
Interested to know this as well. While I likely will not go with the Sasquatch package, I will certainly get 34-35 inch tires. So with the weight of the 2 door being similar to the ranger along with 3.73 rear gears, this should be a good indication about my expected MPG.
Also @BAJA FORGED...
So $500 gets you everything you need for the tune. Supporting mods like exhaust and intake always help but are not required.
While a tune can't void your warranty (they have to prove the tune caused the issue) it unfortunately usually is a sticking point for anything major drivetrain related at...
You can absolutely feel a 60hp and more so the 100 TQ difference. It will make the engine feel FAR more responsive then the factory tune. That coupled with 500 tq, it would be a blast to drive. For reference, the coyote in the 18-20 Mustangs make 420 tq. A very rudimentary way of thinking about...
