After considering several options, I opted to mount the relay to an open slot in the KR support bracket on the firewall side of the compressor. Wire looks tidy and its not too close to the washer fluid reservoir, hopefully avoiding accidental spillage on the relay during refills. Feels solid...

Did the same today - made a template with cardboard then used a scroll saw with blade for plastic to make the cuts. Very happy with the end product.
