I didn't end up getting the exact build I wanted and even waited an extra six months which Ford gifted me a five-year 75,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty for free.
At that point I put in a build a year ago for a 22, with everything I wanted, knowing I would likely be able to sell the 21 and...
any aftermarket solutions for this? honestly pretty shocked they engineered it this way, my biggest gripe so far when even the rivian's have thought of this
i mean, it's absurd and ford should pay for how poorly this has been managed. i don't care what the supply and demand are for these vehicles, it doesn't matter.
dealers are held to a standard where they receive the same or higher volume for selling vehicles to the people who actually order...
ok so update:
- got my dealer to give me $1k in cash and $1k in parts
- got my dealer to get me a 2022 with a prioritized build date over other people (approved by ford)
- dealer will swap me into the 2022 for free
This is a joke, I'm glad all the people selling them to the desperate are seeing major declines in markups, you have to ask yourself if this thing is even worth it at this point. What's next Ford?
I don't think customers should accept the customer satisfaction plan and should demand discounted pricing. Is this a first world problem? Yes absolutely. Should customers have to Pay full price for a one-year delayed vehicle? Absolutely not. Are the supply chain shortages only exclusive to Ford...
So just to be clear, the fact that the Ford tracker says it's already in production doesn't mean much, and it is going to be built 8/05? I haven't been following too much of the nuance in how this process works because it's changed too many times for me to care anymore
I haven't received any updates since I was delayed from 6/28 to 8/02 build week, now I have a window sticker with a blend date of 8/05...interesting that it currently says it's in production??
So just FYI, I had a VIN going into my 6/28 production date, didn't hear anything from Ford and had to call the dealer to find out that it was moved to 8/2, and then received the official email from Ford on July 3....
What # do we call exactly? Someone above mentioned that the Production Date week was never part of the website, but I swear it was...which is what gave me pause to post this.
