Thereās a lot of discussion on this forum about Wildtrak v. Badlands. And full disclosure, I bought a Badlands, so Iām in āthatā camp. Someone else mentioned bash plates and how disco works. Given that fitting new plates and equipping disco (to a Wildtrak) seems a lot harder than equipping...
Hi OP -
Iām linking a thread below that dealt with this exact topic. In short, it takes very little with main considerations being wheel offset and maybe a need for some minor suspension tweaks / upgrades.
I havenāt made the switch yet, but when I do, Iām leaning spacer plus Bilsteins. The...
This is all good advice thanks everybody! Based on what Iām reading, I was missing the trick on wheel offset. It sounds like if I want to keep the stock wheels, I need a spacer or I need to replace the stockers with +30s or less. This pans out if I model the setup on Tiresize.com.
In...
Hi all - thanks everybody for all the great advice and photos.
Iām in the same boat as the OP - ā22 non-sas badlands with the optional beadlock capable wheels (Manual transmission). My tires are nearing the end of their service life and Iād like to upgrade from my stock 32.5ā KO2s to 35s.
My...
Nobody has brought this up, so I guess I will. Would be happy if someone with more technical knowledge could expand on what I read, as follows:
- while researching my wifeās new āmild hybridā Mercedes which utilizes a direct drive electric motor that somehow eliminates things like starters and...
Hey OP - this topic has been talked about a lot on this forum. Search around.
My two cents - Ford did a great job with the 7MT - Iāve got one and itās the best manual Iāve ever driven (and Iāve had lots of cars with MTs, including expensive sports cars).
I also wheel and the MTs awesome off...
Great review thanks for posting. Iāve also got a manual badlands on upgraded Ford wheels. Was planning the same tire upgrade but am unsure about the lift (Both what kit to use and whether itās necessary). What kit did you use and did you DIY or have it installed? Also did you consider 35x12.5?
I think that is probably right.
I was out multi day wheeling recently with a group of 6 broncos. 3 were badlands, one was obx, one was BD, one was a Braptor. The BD had been self-squatched and the main complaint that owner had was lack of sway bar disconnect.
Having disco just adds an extra...
Hey OP - youāve done a fair amount of off roading with your Badlands.
Not sure if this was first time stuff or if youāre a seasoned hand, but seems to me youāve gotten use out of your sway bar disconnect and your bash plates and probably your rock rails, not to mention your front locker...
I'm gonna say this since no one else has. The Bronco was the most capable vehicle.
Matt was super professional but his vehicles were overmatched without a sand capable wrecker and he started the day over confident.
Can we get specs on that Wildtrak build?
Hi OP -
The reason people here are in a bit of disbelief and calling you a troll is because your Bronco should be able to wheel circles around your friends old XJ.
That being saId, its also about the driver and his/her general understanding of both driving off-road and using the Broncos...
I think _jeff hits the nail on the head
I have a manual badlands non sas with upgraded beadlocks. Like so many others have said, itās more than enough for on-road driving with a cool look. Iāve also wheeled with sas owners and done everything they could do, but with extra skid plate touches...
I ordered Bad Non-Squatch w/ factory upgraded wheels & tires (33ā KO2s), soft, high, bags, rubber mats. Later added the Bimini top and the cargo door Molle system. Dropped tow and the hard top.
I *might* miss the Squatch. 33s look great, 35s perform just better enough in the rocks.
I...
Iād like to echo the āThank You to Dusty and Steffiā
I was able to join this awesome wheeling team on their Friday Gold Mountain run at Bronco Bash this year. What a great time and a super group of people.
Your new and old matching Broncos are fantastic!
Really enjoyed being able to ride...
2,400miles, April 24 delivery. Off road as often as I can :)
2.3, manual, badlands
Havenāt had it fixed yet, but I think Iāve got the same vacuum related brake issue mentioned earlier.
regardless, itās a great ride. Really happy with it despite the two year wait
