Mine did the same, updated to 12-9 to 12-15 this last Wednesday. Mine got off the train to it’s pickup point on Thursday, so just waiting for a car hauler for the last 200 miles. Hope they overestimated this time but just depends on availability of car hauler now.
wash out does not mean spray gallons of water over your seats, have you ever seen the inside a boat seat, it's gross. Water will get in the seams and get into the foam and that can take forever to dry out.
I'm an upholsterer, there are a lot of seats done like this, wether it's carpet or fabric on vinyl or leather seats. The carpet on the back of the rear seats is so that when seats are laid down you are not putting puncture marks or tearing the vinyl when you are sliding your stuff into the back.
