I got to Costco with 4 miles left on the meter this Saturday, which was cutting way, way closer than I ever wanted to. But it was Costco prices so I judged it to be worth the stress.
Great video and nicely edited. Definitely some solid advice there, set to quality Gen X hair metal. Made me jealous I wasn't out on the trail instead of at my desk. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for explaining how Notify buttons work. Now brush up on your reading skills. As I said, I got a notification email this morning and the product sold out before I could get there. I don't intend to wait around to jump on an aftermarket Bronco part like it's a pair of limited edition...
Got an email an hour ago, went to buy them and they're out.
This is a product I'd like to buy. But I'm not going to sit by my computer and wait to frantically order Bronco interior lighting. These aren't concert tickets. Either get enough stock to meet demand or set up a preorder system.
I just can't figure out how 2DR Bronco owners manage to carry around such a giant inferiority complex with less cargo space.
I'm sorry you are in the vast minority of Bronco owners and you don't get to have a real soft top. But you don't have to attack everyone else for being normal.
One of my last big trips in my old JK Wrangler was through Big Bend in Spring 2021. Your pics really took me back to those huge skies, dust storms and all those freaking stars. We camped outside of Terlingua and had a blast drinking Tequila before we left at the Starlight.
No, it stays really firmly in place - probably because it’s a lot thicker than a piece of plywood. The legs I’ve got held up together with a long rubber coated twist tie I also picked up at Home Depot. So it stays quiet.
He paid a deposit. That should be enough. This has all happened before and it will happen again.
In these threads, we get mad and then some of us blame the guy who's just trying to buy a Bronco. "I visited the dealership every 20 minutes for 2 years. You should've had them sign this iron-clad...
Personal experience here from 12 years driving a Wrangler with dual tops - don't expect a hardtop Bronco to be a huge improvement in noise. It helps... some. But it's never going to have an insulated, non-echoey feel like a non-convertible vehicle would. It's just not possible, even with added...
My 2010 Wrangler's soft top is still going strong with zero repairs, despite a lot of weather and a lot of trails. They're tougher than you think. If you take care of them, they last.
Back to the original question, I wanted dual tops. Run hard top in the winter month, switch to the soft top in the Spring. It's what I did with the Jeep for years. Usually invited a buddy over to help me remove and store the hard top.
But when it came to only getting one or the other, choosing...
Logistically, imagine cutting through a soft top. Then you do what? Climb from the rear cargo up to the front seat to look for a phone or other grab-able items of value? Or cut through the roof, climb over the doors and shimmy down into the passenger seat?
If I was a crook, I'd pick up a rock...
Let me know how it goes and share some pics. I strapped the legs on mine, but I've never been happy that they still don't stay flush with the table. My next mod will be finding a way to keep them up by securing them somehow to the bottom of the table, instead of each other. Other than that, it...
I was lucky enough to find a MOD bumper for sale on the forum to replace my standard bumper. I haven't installed it yet - but I'll need to drill out holes for the parking sensors. Has anyone done this yet or know how big the holes should be to accommodate the standard bumper sensors?
I like the idea of having a table ready to go for camping, so I picked up the 24x48 Lifetime folding table this weekend at Home Depot. Here's the link to the table I picked up - but in theory, any 24x48 table would work. I still need to figure out how to secure the legs tightly under the table...
FINALLY. This is where my rear cupholders were in my JK and they're really practical and accessible for the driver as well as kids in the back, especially on road trips.
Fair point. But with the quick response IAG has had to take to try and resolve this issue - I don't blame them for not delaying to write, design, edit and print a bunch of instructions and get this fix out the door with a link to an install video.
Personally, I'm glad they didn't waste any time.
If it makes you feel any better, there were just about as many parts that needed to be swapped to switch back and forth from hardtop to softtop on my JK Wrangler that I ran dual tops on for about 12 years too. It's the nature of the beast (switching between two functional top types) and once...
