Looks like it’s for the whole kit. You choose one of the three available mounting solutions in the “build your kit” section. A MagSafe charging puck is about $20, the the metal mount makes up $90 of the price. I like this charging solution, but that’s Monopoly money pricing.

Mine has been that way pretty much since I got it. It never got any worse. It never leaks. It just looks like a saggy diaper… which matches the rear side windows. Still less trouble than a MIC hard top.
