The barriers to entry are absurdly low. All Ford required for was a completely refundable $100 deposit. The amount of drop-off is going to be significant. Any online forum is going to skew to the enthusiast crowd, but the vast majority of people who put down those deposits are not on this site...

Also, since the deposits are refundable, I’m sure they have to be accounted for differently. They can’t go spending $16.5 when they don’t know how much of that money they’re even going to keep.

The Wrangler is the closest thing we can compare it to, and there seems to be far higher demand and better resale for the 4-doors. They seem to fit most people’s lifestyles better.

I have two older German cars - a 2001 Audi and a 2003 BMW - both of which have manual transmissions and cruise control. It works great in both. Just shift up to whatever gear you plan to stay in for awhile and set it.

I’ve done it four times, not including the Bronco: 2 BMWs, a MINI and an Audi. All were pre-owned, which made it considerably riskier than buying a new car from a manufacturer/dealer with a warranty. Fortunately, they all worked out great.

Echoing many of the sentiments in the thread, I’ll probably get the 2.7L as long as the price difference is reasonable (~$2,000 or less). If it’s only a $1K upcharge, then it’s a no-brainer.
