Rancheria Road is mostly a dirt road but I also drove Black Gulch Jeep Trail which does have some challenge to it. Great Views from the ridge line, you can also drive right up to the Kern river. Also some old mines in the area to look out for. Beautiful Area. Fun little day trip.

Great trails. We had both trails to ourselves, both can be done in an unmodified Bronco. If you are in the Big Bear area I suggest to see both trails. Easy drive from most of SoCal.
