So little update after the truck was towed on 11/7 to the dealership - truck is still in the shop. They replaced the transfer case motor, the awd/4wd module, verified the splice, and now have a "ford engineer" they are going back and forth with to further diagnose why 4wd shift does not work...

I want it. Also, is it a simple swap out for the other "bar" style mabett lights? Same harness connection? I'd prefer not to run a new line if I didn't need to.

Anecdotal but my dad always ran them, and stuck them on anything I drove without asking, living in rural MS, neither of us hit one over the 20+ years we lived in that area. Others did frequently. I'm in the city now, but if I was still rural, I'd run them just in case.

So my dumbass pulled into the driveway, hit the 4h button just to see if it magically started working, and it displayed the same "shifting into 4h" message as last time. I waited about 3 min, staring at it, hit 2h again, but the message stayed. I shut it off, went back later to run to the store...

I haven't studied the available manuals on here, but I'm starting to. I believe it is the RED harness right where the hood meets the windshield in the image. It looks like Green is an indicator for inside the vehicle, Red is undercarriage. I've seen other diagrams that show the connection points...

Little update, the issue was originally vehicle stuck in 4h. The wires had pulled out of the harness. Once I found the problem (thanks bronco6g forum) I pushed them back in and could shift from 2h to 4h/4l again. The only problem was the broken ground wire. After this repair today, I got home...

Thanks for the insights. This is my first time dealing with dealerships and repairs. Always had a beater and did most of my own work before buying a new Bronco. The only thing I regret is not buying from a better dealership, if there is such a thing.

I guess next time a stick catches the wire, I'll know just how far those harnesses run.
