  1. DIY 2.7L Engine Oil Change - Save $$ and Learn Your Pony! 🐎

I haven't even looked into changing oil so thanks for this, well done and informative with no bs.
  2. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

Thanks for the insights. It still amazes me they replaced the full transfer case with only 2k miles. I would think they would start with the cheapest parts first, but I'm sure they have metrics for the repairs that dictate order of replacement. The day after it was towed, I found a ranger forum...
  3. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

edit - I was wrong on the previous post, they did not replace the AWD module! Spoke to the dealer again today. They have replaced the transfer case motor, then the entire transfer case. The 4-5 days of back and forth with Ford technical support led to them ordering an AWD module for...
  4. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

So little update after the truck was towed on 11/7 to the dealership - truck is still in the shop. They replaced the transfer case motor, the awd/4wd module, verified the splice, and now have a "ford engineer" they are going back and forth with to further diagnose why 4wd shift does not work...
  5. MABETT | Grab Handles with Demo Light Kit – Back in Store Now!

I want it. Also, is it a simple swap out for the other "bar" style mabett lights? Same harness connection? I'd prefer not to run a new line if I didn't need to.
  6. Hit Deer Need Advice

Anecdotal but my dad always ran them, and stuck them on anything I drove without asking, living in rural MS, neither of us hit one over the 20+ years we lived in that area. Others did frequently. I'm in the city now, but if I was still rural, I'd run them just in case.
  7. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

So my dumbass pulled into the driveway, hit the 4h button just to see if it magically started working, and it displayed the same "shifting into 4h" message as last time. I waited about 3 min, staring at it, hit 2h again, but the message stayed. I shut it off, went back later to run to the store...
  8. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

I fumed on this for a while, but in the end, it was a dealer that performed the splice, it maintains my warranty and excludes them blaming me for gremlins. Small price to pay for piece of mind. I'm curious what they did to disable my 4wd when it was working previously. The tech did note they did...
  9. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

I haven't studied the available manuals on here, but I'm starting to. I believe it is the RED harness right where the hood meets the windshield in the image. It looks like Green is an indicator for inside the vehicle, Red is undercarriage. I've seen other diagrams that show the connection points...
  10. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

Little update, the issue was originally vehicle stuck in 4h. The wires had pulled out of the harness. Once I found the problem (thanks bronco6g forum) I pushed them back in and could shift from 2h to 4h/4l again. The only problem was the broken ground wire. After this repair today, I got home...
  11. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

Thanks for the insights. This is my first time dealing with dealerships and repairs. Always had a beater and did most of my own work before buying a new Bronco. The only thing I regret is not buying from a better dealership, if there is such a thing.
  12. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

I guess next time a stick catches the wire, I'll know just how far those harnesses run.
  13. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

I crawled under the truck with the tech when he said it was the wheel speed sensor wiring harness to make sure we were talking the same part, he pointed to the damaged harness. I specified I wanted the harness replaced, was quoted 800 and change, which I agreed to. They called and said the part...
  14. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

As the title states, had a stick pull out the transfer case signal wire, harness under the passenger side on the frame. Only the ground wire was pulled from the front harness. I wanted it repaired to ensure no electrical gremlins down the road. Dealer cut the harness on both sides, spliced the...
