Tough to let go of that dial. The OEM Bass digital bar is inconvenient to use. Why would unplugging the dial resolve this issue?

Don't know the answer there. The Kicker amp is dedicated to the Kicker sub. The six speakers are wired to the OEM amp. When the sub drops out, the six speakers continue to play. I'll be a lot more thorough next time I look into this.

Below volume level 21, my Kicker 8" sub will drop out when hitting road bumps. Go over the next bump. the sub will pop back on. Sometimes bumps don't affect it. sometimes they do. At high volume above level 21 the sub is not affected by bumps, I'm guessing because so much power is flowing...
