i Was able to shift into all modes according to my selector. I could drive slowly in all modes (and reverse) with clunking noise. 4h was a little quieter. 4L was not really low. They didn’t actually talk about parts within the transfer case - only that it was a total loss.
i do not have the advanced 4wd transfer case. They saw my tow hardware on front which explains the flat towing knowledge.
i put into 4wd high about 1/2 mile before getting stuck and it worked fine. Going into 4wd low while in neutral, then shifting into drive led to the loud pop underneath.
I got stuck in a snow mound (2024 Black Diamond with 13000 mi) following tire tracks already there. I was in 4 wheel high. Shifted in to 4 wheel low and heard loud pop down under when brakes applied. Had to drive about 10 miles (at 8-10 mph) before cell signal obtained. Towed to ford garage...
I replaced the 2 tow hooks with the Roadmaster base plates. This may not be what you want for your Heritage. I use a Roadmaster Nighthawk 676 tow bar with 8000 lbs capacity. I use a Roadmaster proportional air braking system. What you need will be mandated by your braking system. I have the...
I’ve heard about all the issues some folks have had and sympathize with their situation. I live on the road and bought the 2024 Bronco to be flat towed wherever I go. I currently have about 2000 miles with the neutral tow and auto transmission. It has worked flawlessly. I went with the...
I had a similar issue in my motorhome not my Bronco. The power shutting of every 10 sec sounded like my issue. Thought it was my cable running from 12v PowerPoint. After multiple power cord change outs I traced the the issue to a bad ground. Issue solved. Have you been doing any electrical...
This brings up a good question for those of us without bead lock wheels. I have stock wheels/tires on my 2024 BD. How much can I safely lower my air pressure for off road travel? I don’t rock crawl. Only rough dirt roads with some occasional small boulders.
My Bluetooth wireless connection usually works great in my BD 2024 (most of the time). It can get a little confused when my wife’s in the car at the same time. May have to select what phone to connect to.
I have had my 2024 Black Diamond for about 3 weeks now. Less than 2000 miles. No electrical issues. It has what I consider mild wind noise at 70 MPH With hard top. it is quieter than my 2004 Honda Element was. It is very tight new vehicle. Non Sasquatch with standard all terrain tires. No...
Thanks for your reply Dean (Not many of us left). I’m with you on running the 12v line to maintain battery. As I told Chris (above) I’ve used the air brake master for 20 years. It has worked very well with no 12v drain. But, you do need a motorhome with available air compressor. That Ankor...
So you used Curt base plate and wiring harness. I looked at there web page and did not look user friendly. Typed in Bronco base plate with no results. Did you buy from Curt or Amazon? If you installed how was it?
thanks Cash
Thanks for those extra details Cash. I’ve been using the...
Thanks for your info. I am interested in the Curt plug and play wiring harness. Was it an easy hook-up? I did order the tow package not sure if that would affect the type of plug and play electrical harness I should order. Did you buy off Amazon?
So you can get your RC winch on with your...
Thanks for your reply’s. Yes, I have read the horror stories About flat towing Broncho’s with auto transmission . Very concerning! That’s why I’m trying to avoid these issues with relevant information.
Don’t like tow Dollie’s . Always an issue of what to do with it when you arrive at...
I have a build date for Jan 8, 2024 for my Black Diamond which i want to flat tow. I have been flat towing a 2004 Honda Element for almost 20 years and think it’s time to upgrade. Roadmaster is researching what’s different about the 2024 Bronco from the 2023 as far as base plates installation...
