I've actually had really good luck with the Harbor Freight Hydraulic Wire Crimper. I used it for my inverter cable crimping.
As for crimp terminals you can get good one from McMaster Carr search for High-Temp ring terminals. Not the cheapest but they are worth it when doing anything high current...
Can't say you're wrong about fuses off of Amazon though. Head over to youtube and lookup Louis Rossmann's video on Amazon fuses. That is an eye opener for sure. 2amp fuses not blowing until over 10 is just scary.
The other one that I've come across is sellers passing off aluminum wire as copper...
I wont argue that a lot of stuff on Amazon I wouldn't trust but the other side of that is you need to educate yourself on what you're doing.
One of your best friends whenever you do electrical work is a "voltage drop calculator" to properly size your wiring. Something people forgets is that...
Thought I post my relay magic project that I'm just finish up on in case it could help other members.
Spouse gifted me with a set of Harbor Freight 4" Roadshock Edge lights and a-pillar mounts and so this is how I ended up wiring.
We live in "STUPID deer" country, as if there is any other kind...
Yes that's the recommend and "normal" way of clearing errors but this specific ABS error refused to clear with the engine off which is why I made the post.
I had a similar error on my Transit that had the same issue DTC refused to clear with engine off while in acc mode only way to clear it was...
I shared this in the general section but thought I'd share it here as well.
When swapping out my light switch to a dual fog (-cc) version it threw a ABS DTC error that refused to reset via Forscan normal method.
Final solution was connect forscan while in acc mode then start the engine then...
New member but thought I'd share this tip to save everyone else a heart attack.
I just got my 2024 BL and am starting on the upgrade cycle. So I was attempting to swap out my stock light switch with a dual fog control and ran into an issue and thought I'd share the solution since I didn't see...
Didn't know and the chart is misleading because everything else appeared to happen automatically. Rear, sway bar, throttle etc.
My last real 4x4 I had to get out with a wrench to manually lock the front hubs when they were caked over in snow and ice so wasn't sure what was supposed to be the...
Thank you.
I was just afraid that I'd messed something up since I didn't pay attention before enabling Sport mode and the forscan chart made me believe that it was supposed to automatically lock not become available to lock since the chart uses the same "locked" note in both front and rear...
I think I might have answered my own question with the adage of "When is doubt read the manual"
If I'm reading the 600 page monster correctly front locker "is available" not automatically engaged like the rear is when you select Rock mode.
It would still make me feel better if...
I know but that's what I'm attempting to figure out.
The GOAT chart in the forscan spreadsheet has front/rear lockers shown as "locked" mine isn't doing that.
I went ahead and did an as-build restore for the ABS but the behavior is still the same. Rear locker engage front is not. I have to...
Looking at the "Modes" chart in the forscan spreadsheet it indicates that in Sand, Mud, Rock the front and back locker should automatically engage.
I didn't pay that much attention before I applied the Sport patch but now when I go to those modes, because I specially looking for issues, the...
Has anyone else experienced this.
Just got my 2024 BL and enabled Sport mode and everything seemed to go alright, but now when I go to the mode that are supposed to auto enable the front lockers it doesn't.
Honestly I can't remember if this was an issue before I did the change or not and...
