  1. What's the Biggest Lesson You've Learned Off-Roading?

Spend the time to secure and tie stuff down in back, like you would in an airplane. I quadruple re-learned this the other day. After airing up after a hot afternoon, I was tired. "oh, the compressor will be OK just sitting between a few things. The first roundabout coming home -- WHAM...
  2. E load vs C load tires - what's your pick?

Yes, agreed. I am the guy in the OEM Goodyears poking along less than 1/2 that speed on rocks like that. I'm always alone and have no wish to be plugging or changing a tire on the trail. 🤞
  3. 2025 Bronco 2.3L Air Filter Change DIY Write-Up (cabin air filter + engine air filter)

...and here I was spending 20 minutes carefully trying to open the cabin air filter box from the LEFT the other week  A stronger light and reading glasses helped a little. Those Mass Air Flow Sensor fasteners must be some of the few "regular" Torx in the 2025 Badlands. Am...
  4. exhaust smoke…lots= Engine Replacement

Yep, curious here too. wondering if an older ‘22 engine would/can be replaced with a newer ‘25/‘26 engine if it were needed to be replaced by Ford today.
  5. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

got tired of moping around the house doing chores and going out for groceries and putting up with meeting folks at fancy restaurants for.... On a moment's decision, I got out to some local hills. Just took what's called, the Mt. Loop here. Mostly a 20 mi or so gravely dirt road thru US...
  6. If you could get rid of one ownership headache, what would it be?

A new one for this thread -- I think. 'almost forgot about this. Who named these switches "hero" switches?? I shake my head and cuss a bit whenever I think about this. What does this term mean here? What's makes the driver so heroic about using them? Are the mechanisms themselves...
  7. If you could get rid of one ownership headache, what would it be?

1.0 That so much of the machine mechanisms are computer controlled; how stable and long-lived is your laptop or desktop? 1.1 All of the “press OK” idiocy. The worst is that it wants me to confirm I know I’m wearing my seatbelt and all is good. 1.2 MIC top worries; no cracks yet, but I’m...
  8. $259.99 Tube Fender Flare Delete - Arrive Soon!

And, is the title of this thread a command that we are to arrive soon? Resist complacency!
  9. Ford Ranchero EV Pickup – News & Info

Just saw this thread. I gotta ask, WTH is that?? It certainly isn’t a Ranchero.
  10. Recovery gear for sand/beach driving

As I have seen no comments here about Ronny Dahl and his videos, I may get some flak for this… But … his sand driving video from several years ago seems to be ok to get some ideas from. 🇦🇺🦘 and I usually get a chuckle or two from his work.
  11. Good road tire without an aggressive tread pattern - recommendations?

I thought it was some new GOAT mode, like the Transfer Case Explodes or Brakes Lock mode. This forum is a bad influence on me.
  12. Recommendations for western WA Bronco service shops

Watching this …. 🍿🌽 in my Jeep and Toyota experiences with 4X4 mod shops, it was usually staffed by young punks so full of themselves that the places were always expensive letdowns. the best of luck to you, OP, and I hope to hear some good news here.
  13. Naming My Bronco

‘Used to have a ferrier (farrier now?) who named his 2 turkeys Thanksgiving and Christmas. They were gone after the holidays 🤔 edit: maybe I’ll name my Bronco “In a Ditch” or “Off the Cliff”.
  14. Adding a hardtop - options?

Am I the only one smelling something odd with this? ...waiting to see if a hard top sales opportunity happens to come up soon. skeptape6921
  15. Whaaaat! This hurts. A little.

That sticker is like pointing out objects of mass will remain as they are unless acted on by a force…. It goes without saying 😉 I currently have mine as a three-seater for times I’m feeling generous to give rides. Haven’t raised that rear seat yet! Hahaha. Wait, or is it that no one has...
  16. OEM Tire Lugs

Just gave mine a once over. All ok The sharp rocks I put my OEMs over are usually not large and fixed like those in your photos, but smaller and can roll and give a bit. maybe 🤷🏻‍♂️
  17. Two Door Tuesday Lets See Them Two Doors

I love the HEAT DOME effect in your photo!!! 'looks like your Bronco is cookin' under a broiler. :whew:
  18. First trail shakedown. Otay Mtn, Anza-Borrego Desert, Ocotillo Wells

Thanks for the advice. I usually have traction control turned off, just because I don't want to sense anything odd while I'm driving. For example, I'm still not used to anti-lock brakes. Lemme rethink the emergency situation with this high center of G (mass) vehicle while on...
  19. First trail shakedown. Otay Mtn, Anza-Borrego Desert, Ocotillo Wells

Just watched this video. 'haven't seen it before, at first thought these guys were gonna be weird, but I liked most of what they said.... all but the part of having traction control off is for highly skilled drivers. I usually turn it off but; me a "highly skilled driver"? HaHa ha ha! 🤣😆.
  20. First trail shakedown. Otay Mtn, Anza-Borrego Desert, Ocotillo Wells

I understand your feelings well about getting back off the pavement and away from city lights. I’ve spent many a starry night out in Borrego and Ocotillo; ‘87 Cherokee (stayed away from Comp Hill, haha). One thing: maybe someone else here can explain the traction control settings while in...
